I was searching the internet for some help regarding this subject. And I found this forum, I looked through it and it seems like a nice community. I have been interested for a while in getting a good gaming laptop. It doesn't have to be amazing. I just want something that can handle most modern games in low/medium quality. The most important factor to me is the battery, I want a long lasting one. I don't really have a price range, anything around $1000 or lower would be fine.

Well if you are looking for decent and cheap I would say that Acer and Asus are something to look at, but if you want a little more reliable I do know that Dell has some good gaming laptops, but I am not really sure how expensive they are in relation to their their other models. I would say that you might be looking at a base of about 1,000.

Gaming laptops nowadays are getting expensive although I can still see cheap ones. I don't know how to see their differences and the price range really vary. In fact, there's a very wide price range when it comes to gaming laptops.

Well, below a thousand bucks is a little challenging. But, Acer does have a few low cost options. The Acer predator is expensive but they have other models that are cheaper. Acer Aspire series offers really low cost gaming laptops with good configs and they last a long time too.

and this one is right at the $1000 mark:

What kind of games are you planning to play? I have an Acer Aspire, which is not a gaming laptop, but it's still able to run, beautifully I might add, Dishonored, Kingdoms of Amalur, and Dota 2 at low-medium settings.

It cost me around $600 when I bought it a few months ago.

Take a look at this site: http://anandtech.com/show/9812/best-gaming-laptops

It's one of the best PC/Technology review sites in my opinion. If you're looking for more options, that link might help you. :)

And yeah this looks like a real winner:
