listening to BB Radio 3 (classical music etc) is impossible with my AA1. everything seems to be okay, the media player says it is buffering, but then it stops. no sound. other media seem to be okay. could it be that I need realplayer or so? is that available for Linux?

    any help?
    thanks and cheers

It works perfectly on mine when I press the "On Air now, performance on 3, Listen Live" button in the upper right corner.
I have updated mplayer; maybe that makes the difference ?

I can also listen to it by inserting the link to the stream (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/ram/r3g2.ram) in VLC.

I noticed that the Beeb only allows downloads within Britain. May be you are living in England?

obviously I also clicked on the "listen live" button, but I am always getting all kinds of written explanations about BBCs rules and regulations. may be they have to stop transmission outside Britain for licensing reasons??

It works for me. I've upgraded my mplayer to the version from livna and installed the mplayer codecs tarball so I have full codec support, I also disabled the Mediawrap Firefox plugin because I couldn't see the need for it. I'm not sure if any of these changes are responsible for it working for me, but if you haven't done them already I guess they are worth you trying. I should think it was most likely installing the extra codecs, with the next most likely being upgrading mplayer, I doubt it is the Mediawrap plugin, but I just mention that in case.

I went to all the trouble to install realplayer and vlc so i could listen to bbc content. All that was really necessary was to open a terminal and enter:
    sudo yum update mplayer
and all was (and still is ) well.
