That is one of the most useless post I have ever seen. Come on people if you have something to say give a little information so maybe some one will help. That post sounds like maybe you meant Life sucks and makes about as much sense.

We may be in store for an unfortunate influx of posts like this and other such complaining about linux. With the holidays coming up, I am sure there will be a number of A110's purchased by users who have no business using linux for anything more than the very basic linpus features.

What a moron. You've got to be stupid to buy a product you know nothing about.

I'm afraid you are absolutely right about that Ace. Heck we are seeing a pretty fair share of those complaints now. Configuring Linux is *far* beyond the average PC user. I have a great respect for Linux and the entire open source movement, but at the moment (as has been the case for more than the last decade), barring the educational aspect of going through it all, none of these machines are ready for prime time with new users and will just lead to frustration and resentment imho.

People seem to have forgotten how much time we spent in the past in versions of DOS and early versions of Windows to get things to work. I remember spending hours getting autoexec.bat files and config.sys files correct to get some programs or games to work. However there was no alternative, so you had to plod on. DOS and Windows had (and still have) some major flaws but people seem to accept that. Linpus on you AA1 will give you instant functionality that 90% of the users need. There is not need to get under the hood if you are only surfing the web, mailing and producing some documents now and then.

I guess it must be fear of the unknown.

I would agree about the basic functionality but, I'm not too sure about the 90% part because eventually everyone wants more out of their machines. That's where the problems begin.

I'm usually not very eager to locking topics, but this post is just plain useless...
