Keys have a lag time when typing in Yahoo...

    I have the 10" Notebook with Microsoft Security Essentials as my Antivirus/Spyware. When I Itype a message in Yahoo the letters will lag key touch after about 1 1/2 lines, then it freezes. After 30-60 seconds, I can then type one letter and will have to wait. McAffee was on the machine when I got it but I don't want to have to pay for protection when there are so many antivurs/spyware software for free. With McAffee, I didn't have a problem. I have tried AVG as well - developes lag time. Ideas? Is anyone using a free anitvirus/spyware that works?
