Running alpha 2 with the latest updates as of an hour ago. Sound works. Camera works.
SD cards work when not present at boot with a slight tweak to menu.lst (aka grub.conf) regarding pciehp (see below):
    Code:
    title Karmic-ext4 sda11
    	root (hd0,10)
    	kernel /vmlinuz2 root=/dev/sda11 ro selinux=0 pciehp.pciehp_force=1
    	initrd /initrd2

I don't use suspend or hibernate, so they haven't been tested.

Desktop background is Springtime in Olathe[attachment=0:1q4ppp86]Screenshot.jpg[/attachment:1q4ppp86]

I have been using Karmic since pre-alpha and so far all is going well with just the odd hiccup. The only problem I am having is with usplash not showing any progress in the bar, are you using grub2 or still sitting with grub. Can you post your vga setting for Karmic in your grub.conf or menu.lst file?

What I posted above is the complete entry for Karmic in my grub.conf file. I'm not running grub2, but I did update (From Fedora) to a version that could boot off ext4 partitions.

I see the Fedora 11 splash screen as the background to my grub menu
    Code:
    splashimage=(hd0,2)/grub/splash.xpm.gz

Any updates on your experiences? (I see that alpha 3 is now available here.)

How are the video drivers, can you watch youtube videos without them stuttering (out of the box)? How about the wifi light? These seem like the main problems to solve (along with SD slots).

but does it fix wifi disconnecting for no good reason and then not being able to reconnect?

It seems this is only a problem with ubuntu and not necessariliy related to the drivers, as i've tried 3 different adapters

Last time I used Karmic on my AA1 (probably July 28 or 29), it would still randomly disconnect, but always reconnected. Never had that problem with Fedora Rawhide.

I have installed karmic when it was at alpha 4.
I have no problems with wifi, or suspend / resume. Haven't tried card reader as i don't use it.

Otherwise i have experienced only one minor crash in 2 weeks, so i am quite happy with it.

9.10 is in alpha. Expect and be willing to report bugs back to the developers or stay with 9.04 =)

Posting the issues on launchpad and then being confirmed by other would be the best help to ensure a good karmic release. I hope everyone reading this thread agree on that

If you look in /var/log/messages it says that you have to manually run a command to get it work. Sorry I don't remember which command it was.
Just run: grep "acerhdf" /var/log/messages in a terminal and you should see it.
I have no idea why it is like that in 9.10.
