Hi all
Does anyone have any info on itunes on aspire one linux version?
Or any other software for iphone ipod will work ?
Many thanks

I think there is amarok and banshee,

But I cant get either to install, I want to use banshee as it looks nicer to me, but I cant install it, and no one on this forum has replied to help me out yet and install it.

install amarok

1. terminal
2. sudo yum install amarok amarok-extras-nonfree

i haven't tested if the ipod would still work on itunes (without db errors) after using it on amarok.

There is no apple software for Linux, though there are analogs for ipods (just do not remember names, but google). Only way to run iTunes is wine but it does not seem reasonable (at least for me).

Others have suggested substitutes for iTunes, at least as far as media playing goes. If you want to sync your iPod, though, the best bet is gtkPod. This will not only move music to and fro (including cover art etc.) but also sync your calendar software between Linux and the iPod. Only caveat is that it doesn't support the new iPod Touch or iPhone (Apple deliberately changed and locked down the sync method so that it only works with iTunes).

HTH

can anyone tell me the difference/benefits of installing GTKPod instead of simply running Itunes through Wine?

are there differences performance-wise since Wine is essentially an emulator?

what do you guys recommend?

Thanks!
