Hi all, I replaced the built-in wifi mini pci-e with an Intel 3945ABG. I choose that one because I read a couple of times that it works with the AA1. But now it's in there, it hangs my AA1, it always hangs somewhere within a minute from pushing the power button, but it can be at boot or at the desktop, it seems to be completely random. I don't have this problem when I boot without wifi card or with the old one. I don't think it's a windows related issue because sometimes it does it before the windows loading screen appears. Why doesn't it work on my AA1 when it does on others!? Could it have something to do with the bios version? I'm running the latest (3304)

I didn't, but it hangs at random points, sometimes even before windows loads drivers.

Try to put back original card and check. If there is problem with old/original card as well it must be something else - hardware??. Try the same w/o card at all...

Like I said in the first post, I already did that, and it worked perfectly with the old card or without any card ;)

OK. Your new card must be faulty then....

I did this exact same switch and have experienced no issues. I'd blame your intel card...

Yes. This switch is only for ON/OFF purpose. It's switching power to card only...

It only hangs, and it has nothing to do with loose connectors, I swapped the original card and my new card several times but had no luck!

    And if you try this?...

    Plug in old card
Go to Safe Mode, Delete and UnInstall card and drivers, Shut Off.
    Switch cards
Safe mode again, install latest driver
    Restart
    ???
    Profit!

Maybe works... Or it is incompatible for an unkown reason. Also, intall drivers from the cd that come with the card, if it not work, download latest drivers from intel page.

I have the SAME problem!! ahhh I just installed a 3945ABG and it keeps freezing. this is BS. tell me if you can find a way to fix it. I am looking into it myself. I noticed taht in safe mode (no netoworking) that the laptop doesn't freeze.

I am installing the latest drivers -IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection: 12.2.0.11 (had 12.1.xx from windows update)
