OK... first of my english is not that good so im going to explain this as simple as possible..

first of download the trial version of Ultra ISO found here (( http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso ))

Then after u install this program open it... click on open look for your windows XP,Vista or 7 ISO file (depending on the size of the ISO file is the size on the USB flash drive u should get windows XP works on a 1GB, Vista should be on a 8 GB and windows 7 fits on a 4 GB...

After you have open the iso in the program just click on the top where it says bootable,
choose the one that says ((write image))

then a pop out window should appear choose your USB flash drive remember it should be empty if anything is on it, it will get erased.. check mark on the verify after writing..
this should take like 15 minutes an then your set to boot up from the USB

hope this is better then more complicated version... work for me

This worked great! Very straight-forward, thanks.

Just wondering, will this same method work with installing XP?

Hi! It looks like a very simply mode, but i was unsuccesful. The UltraISO couldn't format the drive, on the half it stopped by an error. Is this the failure of the pendrive, or any other had the same problem?

And u would have to check if that copy of windows does not have any errors it could be the the ISO file is corrupted

The problem was the Vista on my main machine... :D In the AA1 were succes the whole process, thx!!! My question is (I couldn't find it), that I tried to reinstall the XP from the 0. partition, also by the combination of Alt+F10. But nothing happened, the W7 booted in, and thats all... I've lost it, or just invisible (jet)?

going for a fresh install to remove the old version of XP

will post back my findings shortly

just a quick note, copying the iso to a usb stick won't work, you will have to extract it first.

This method doesn't work even if you use a genuine XP cd. I know this, because I used my genuine XP disc for my old Gateway and used UltraISO to turn it into an ISO, then load onto the flash drive and make it bootable. It still gives the INF file setup.sif is corrupt or missing. status 18 error.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? FYI, I'm trying this on the 8gb version that originally came with Linux. I've already partitioned the drive so that 4gb of it is NTFS, so I don't know what's causing the problem.

Why not just plug in an external DVD drive and install it that way? I picked up a used DVD burner on eBay for around $50 which I use to install programs on my Acer. However, I understand if you don't have access to an external DVD drive, the USB flash drive is another option (maybe the only one.).

I installed Windows 7 because Windows XP with its 3rd service pack is too slow. Speed are quite similar but, Windows 7 is so good looking and it works pretty well with 1 GB RAM. I read that Windows 7 can run with 512 MB but only Windows let alone. :)
    THank you
