I play iTunes on my AA1 and wondered how good the sound would be from a set of headphones.

So I plug in my iPhone headphones in to the side jack. Audio is terrible and faint. I pull the plug out about an 1/8" and all sounds fine. Well bummer, what's this all about.

Then it hit me that the iPhone head phones have a built in mic and the plug is pinned out a little different than standard stereo headphones. I plug in a set of headphones from an iPod and now great sounding music.

The sound quality on these is pretty good. Actually better than my Dell Inspiron 1520

I found this same issue out the hard way. I usually only carry iPhone head phones with me. Have you tried any adapers?
