    Hi All

I have just installed PCBSD onto the AAO but the wireless is not working and I am trying to get the drivers.

No joy from the PCBSD forum yet.

Does anyone know the model of the Atheros card in the AAO?

    Many thanks

    Garry

Yes, and it should be working--or maybe that's in CURRENT.
It's the AR5007EG, and the reason it has worked well in Linux so well is because of the work of Sam Leffler of FreeBSD.

You might try daemonforums or forums.freebsd.org as well. I haven't put FreeBSD on my netbook because I don't have a spare primary partition at present, but I was under the impression that it's now pretty easy to get working.

Look for anything about FreeBSD on EEE PC's (prior to the 900 series.) Around the 900 (maybe 901) they changed to a realtek card, but prior to that, they were using the same Atheros AR5007EG.
