snapped my backspace key off yesterday :( Think Acer will sell me a replacement key or whole keyboard for a reasonable price? Or should I go pull a fast one and switch out my broken key with a demo unit

indeed do tell how you managed this feat?

    that others might avoid it

perhaps you are the kinda of person that should spring for the extended warr/damage protection plan :D

I dont think glue will work but I can try.. Otherwise I will wait until broken units are on the market.. It is not Acer's fault, I got rough on the backspace key on accident and hit it from an angle popping it off and breaking the little flange that holds in in place.

Just talked to Acer support and they are sending me a new keyboard. I told them that I did not want to send it in for such a minor issue and that I was a certified technician and they are shipping it out covered under warranty. A+ service!

    Wow - I'm impressed. Now that's service.

Much as I love my MacBook Pro, I cannot see Apple doing this.

my cat knocked a key off my AAO 110 (he got his claw under the key and popped it loose) happily it didn't break in my case (I believe it was an arrow key) and I just popped it back on

ebay seemed to have no shortage of replacement keyboards when I looked awhile ago.

the keyboard replacement should be not too much trouble as I saw from my hard drive replacement and memory upgrade project a bit ago. just be careful with that little connector cause it is pretty tiny and fragile.
