    Hey guys,

I got an Hp 240 G4, an excellent laptop. It's handy and fast. However, for the last few days it's been turining it off on its own. It happended when it's working with the battery, only.

I replaced the battery, although it didn't seem to be necessary. It did just the same, that is, after 2 hours or so, it turned it off. I've already modified the energy configuration, but to no avail.

Of course, I'll take it to the repair shop, but I would like to know whether anyone could give a clue of what might be faulty.

Thanks very mucch indeed for your help!!

Welcome to the laptop forums site

It could be overheating check the vents for blockages, you can buy
a can of compressed air to blow out the dust, and fluff that's accumulated.

Also go back to the control panels energy configuration section and make sure
that the sleep option is disabled

Thanks a lot for the post! However, it is weird that the laptop turns it off only with the battery. If I plug the laptop to an outlet, doesn't do anything at all.
