When I try that code in the terminal the list that I get doesn't contain the text that you specified, so I don't know what's going on. I even copied and pasted into a document so I could search and find the text but it's not there.

    Here is the xorg.conf file:
    Code:
    # Xorg configuration created by system-config-display

I'm helping here based on memory alone, because I no longer use Linpus so make allowances for that.

It looks like you're being dropped to the generic VESA driver (I need to see the output of the "cat" command I gave you earlier to be sure but it sure sounds like it). Which means for one reason or another the driver didn't get installed properly.

Have you run step 2 more than once?

It's possible that my script is by now fairly outdated, and breaks at some point. I hope you've remembered to make a backup you can revert to.

If not, you'll have to try something else to get your graphics back, like a different set of instructions from somewhere else on this forum, or macles.blogspot.com. You can also use the package manager to install a slightly older version of the intel driver - lots of howtos around here for how to use this (which should fix color banding issues but won't give you the same compiz performance)

I'll try a few more things but I don't want to risk completly bricking it. I think I will just do a factory reset and then see how it goes from there  Thanks for all the help.
