I have a 3 day old acer with xp and 8 gb ssd + 8gb sd card. I want to upgrade the BIOS 3305 to 3309. I downloaded the bios file from acer and I clicked on one of the .exe icons but nothing really happened. It's still 3305.

Can I ask what the new BIOS offers?

I've always been of the opinion that unless the upgrade fixes a problem I have or new functionality I'm going to use I don't bother.

I know that these days doing an update is a lot less fraught than it used to be but you never know.

Note to self. Check BIOS version ;)

    Regards
    Nick

Did you run "FlashIt.exe" in the "3309" folder?

You need to run "InsydeFlash.exe" in the "3309\winflash" folder.

Alternatively, boot FreedDOS from a USB stick and run "3309.bat".
