    I don't know what the procedure is when a quesion has been answered or when I have found an answer to my own question.
    If I have to remove them I don't know how.

    Don't worry, there's no need to remove it - just update the thread letting people know that you've found the answer (and idealy let them know), as we get lots of people searching that come across old threads for answers :).
