I recently dropped my laptop (about 4 inches) and the LCD screen is now cracked. I am trying to connect the laptop to the tv (to use it as a monitor) but nothing happens. I would like to be able to back up all my files, because it has over a years worth of school notes on it. (College notes.. These could decide my future if they are lost..) I'm not sure if the laptop has a certain option or function i have to put in, in order to connect it to an alternate monitor source.. If someone has any ideas, as this moment i'll try anything! Thanks!!

Connect it, then hit "FN+F5" to switch to the VGA port feed
