Hi all, I'd like to know if there is any way to check the temperature of the cpu in the AA1, I'm running linpus and the lm_sensor doesn't seem to work. It'd be good to be able to know the temp to turn the fan on/off as needed. Cheers.

And if you are usingWindows Xp or any Windows Based System, you should try:

Speedfan. The program reads the System Fan Speed, but also reads the Cpu and Motherboard temp.

Thanks for your replays Infected24 and Oberkanone. I'm using the Linux version and I have already found a great application that fix the fan noise by monitoring the cpu temperature and only starting the fan when needed. It is great to have a quite machine!
Just curious, how is xp performance on the AA1? take care.

sorry marcob8986, I didn't see your post before. The application is an script, instructions on how to make it work are here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Aspir ... %20Control. Although the tutorial is for Ubunu, they instructions work for any linux distro. Cheers

In the present Linux kernel, the Atom cpu isn't detected by the coretemp driver by default. It is possible to patch the driver source and rebuild the kernel--I managed to do this, force the coretemp module to load at boot, and now the CPU temp shows up normally, provided by hwmon...

There is some command to rebuild just those modules, instead of the whole kernel, but I forget it just now (sorry) Someone could generate and share the very small coretemp.ko file for a particular kernel; you would just have to replace it in /lib/modules/kernelname/drivers and run depmod -a with root privileges.
