I've just got a real simple external CD ROM to enable downloading stuff to my AA1 Linpus from CDs. I'm a complete rookie to Linux/Linpus and can't work out how to accept the CD ROM. Do I need to install any drivers (as I would for WIN 98)? I've managed to get the desk top into the advanced mode so I have more control than with the standard user interface.

    Any help gratefully received!

At least with mine, all I had to do was plug it into a USB port and the AA1 automatically detected it. Even was able to boot from CD.

Tried again - it works! I don't know what I did differently and I will check again to ensure it works all of the time. This CDROM is neat in that it is small and is powered from a second USB - therefore no power supply to lug around.

    Thanks for your help.
