    I'm using an AOD255-2331 w/ Win XP

I have a couple of external WD HDD that I plug into a USB hub and I plug the hub into a USB port on my 255. I usually get a message "This device could perform better if plugged into a high speed USB port" and a list of my USB ports.

    HUH?? What is going on?

Most likely your hub is a USB 1.1 and not a USB 2.0. Try plugging into the 255 directly and see if you get the message. If you do then you may be using USB 1.1 XP drivers.

Anyone want to buy a 7 port usb hub - claims USB 2.0 & 480Mbps Also claims to have a 2A power supply (but I can't find it) ??

If I plug the HDD directly into the 255, no error messages. If I go via the hub, I get error messages.

Sounds like a slow hub to me.

    thanks
