Using the desktop switcher found on here I am now using the standard looking XFCE desktop.
The icons however seem locked, snapped to a grid and can only be manipulated individually.
If you open a file manager and click and drag from the white space bottom left to top right, you get a blue transparent box and all your icons are selected.
How can I get this same feature on the desktop?
