You *might* be able to find out why it isn't printing by taking a look at cups error log file?

    In a terminal:

    cd /var/log/cups
    sudo cat error_log

should be some errors at the end of that file displayed that might help ascertain the problem. BTW, not all viewing of log files requires sudo - only those log files owned by root.

If you want to page through and read the log:

    sudo less error_log
    Use Q to quit less.

    Cheers.

Thanks for your reply. This is the only line that looks like a problem.Does that mean anything to you?

Don't know if this will help at all, but maybe you can try this.

    http://localhost:631

Go to Printers tab, find your printer and Set Allowed Users and and your username "user".

    Cheers.
