I am sooo new to this Acer One and the Linux software. Okay...so I download stuff, find it in the downloads list but they won't run or open. Files like Songbird, Real Player and Site Builder. They are listed and say executable but when I say "open in browser/ or firefox" they just open to a blank/grey screen. WHATS UP?????

Back off a bit and take things slowly. Become familiar the mechanics of the OS before running off an installing software left right and center.

And you know you need the linux version of the software, right?

Yes....What I downloaded was for Linux. I used to download all the time on my windows computers and things would install and then come up when needed. No major thought involved. Linux is driving me nuts. I have even considered returning my Acer One!
