Just finishing installing win7 on my d260 for the third time.
I had a aoa110abg previously with an occasional webcam wire so i have just got this nearly new at the right price and transfered over windows.
it came with windows starter and no problems except an everso slightly sluggish hdd. i'm used to my aoa110 with a 32gb supertalent and i'll not go back to spinning things.
The problem occurs late on in the install process. The hdd light is now on and flickers offish for activity. Kind of reversed.
Not tested to see if there actually is activity but it is firmly on with nothing going on. four solid blue lights.
It lights up at boot time within a second or so before the boot screen is done. well before windows.
I've tried reinstalling and the light is normal operation until late in the install again. ie all drivers done. service packed. all updates etc.
Then for no apparent reason the light comes on a stays on. reboot no difference. battery out no difference. even took the disc out with change.
Firstly this happened with the stock 250gb hdd and now it is still happening with a lovely new ocz vertex. overspeced i know but same prices.
So i've used, windows system image creation to mark each stage of install and could revert at will.
Have just reverted to the last known point before the light came on and there it is full on, straight from boot within 2 seconds.
Booting ubuntu from usb was no different.
Will try an earlier system image but i'm loathed to install again.
Anyone had the same or ideas why this could be?
Not tried any bios updates yet.
