I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 on my Aspire which has the HD. I installed Ubuntu with no issues but when I booted back in to Windows, it is thrashing bad. Looking at the task manager, I see one of the cores pegged but nothing showing up in the process monitor on what process it is. I also see the HD light blinking alot. I am wondering if it doesn't like something when it did the repartitioning of the drive. Any suggestions??

    Thanks
    Chris

Doesn't ubuntu by default have some kind of search feature installed that indexes the drives? It may be that.

I don't know what happened but when I reinstalled WinXP partition, it corrected its self. Not sure why but it did.
