    Hey Folks,

Has anyone sent in their laptop yet? How did it go? If you had the freezing/power-failure issue, did they solve it?

Your responses are most appreciated. I'm about to send my 751 in for the freezing issue I've been having since I bought it in early June. I don't have high hopes that they will fix it, since it's an intermittent problem and it's not clear what the cause is.

Running Vista... But others with XP seem to have the same problem, I think, will have to check the "freezing" thread again (it's long...) on this board.

I am scared to send it for repair.
Still seeking for a fix by myself.

Well, I bit the bullet and shipped it off. I included a note between the keyboard and the lid which described the problem in more detail.

I will report back here in a few weeks to let people know how it went! Though I'm still hoping to hear from others who have sent their computers in...

That's really terrible to hear! But I am not surprised.

What did they do for each of the "repairs"? I'm really curious to know if they did anything more than reinstall Windows or reformat the hard drive.

First time they updated the bios, no reinstall of windows.

Second time they updated the bios again, and installed a new HDD which seems to help a little bit but it still frezzes.

Thanks for the information! It gives me a better idea of what to expect.

Did you tell them that the new HDD and BIOS didn't fix the problem? Maybe they keep records at the repair center and could use this information to further trouble-shoot. And to prevent other people from going through the same process of repeatedly sending in their computers.

Just curious, but did you have to pay shipping the second time you sent in the computer? It seems unfair for you to pay shipping 2 or 3 times for the same problem.

I went ahead and called Acer Support.

I can't stand it anymore so I sent my AO751H-1893 for repair.
The Customer Service Representative noted that my screen freezes, and I specifically said BIOS upgrades won't do any difference.
I also want to have my webcam fixed since I can only use it for 2 minutes when using skype or yahoo messenger.

I am crossing my fingers and I am hoping they will solve the problem.
I will have to wait for 7-10 days and update here what happens next.
I just read in some other thread, the memory seems to be a problem.
I noticed that whenever I use it for a couple of hours the part where the memory sits gets really hot.

I also didn't have to pay shipping because they said my purchase is not a month ago so they will cover it.

To those who also sent out their units for repairs, please update us.
I would really appreicate all your help. Thanks!

I sent my 751h to repairs because of freezing. They said the problem was the HDD, so they changed it. Got it back a few days ago - still freezes. However, I had this hunch that it might be due to the k lite codec pack, so I uninstalled it and installed the VLC. Guess what. Stopped freezing. The movies don't go as good as before though - it looks as though VSync is not working, because when there's movement on screen, there appears some kind of horizontal lines in the places where colors change fast. Think I'll try CCCP or something.

I'm guessing you are in a lucky period right now. I don't even have those codec packs installed.

I don't want to send my machine back again so they can replace my unbroken hard drive! And make me reinstall everything at 3rd time! I'd rather have it keep freezing every few days if they aren't going to fix it!
