I installed Windows 7 on my 751h and it has now gone from my big mistake (lots of stttuttttering in multimedia, poor CPU performance, etc...) to a wonderful likeable computer. I am really a LINUX geek at heart, but Windows 7 ain't bad!

Compared to Vista, 7 is much better. XP is still a little better, but only a little...

As for a functional OS out of the box, 7 is fantastic... I believe 7 will lure back some of those who jumped to mac or linux...

I upgraded from XP to 7 over the weekend, and my thoughts so far are that it does seem quicker and smoother now.

I definitely view the jump from XP to 7 as a significant upgrade.

OK I have now upgraded and downgraded and upgraded to do some benchmarking.

Here is what I have concluded with both 1 gig and 2 gig RAM configurations.

    Windows 7 versus XP
Multimedia - Faster than XP with 2 gb ram
On par with XP with 1 gb RAM
    Flash Videos
A weakness of the 751h! No weakness under Windows 7 even with 1 GB of RAM
    Battery
    Call it even
    Photo Editing
    Much better with Windows 7.
    HD Video Playback
    Even Steven.
    Multitasking
I could multi-task more apps & windows with XP 1 gig, but much better with Windows 7 and 2 gigs.
    Internet
Better browsing experience under Windows 7
    Word Processing & Spreadsheet
Much faster calculations, and better office experience under Windows 7 with either 1 gb RAM or 2 Gigabytes Ram

I wasn't happy with my 751h until I did 2 things. I upgraded my BIOS to the latest Rev. Bug improvement. I uograded to Windows 7.

    Hope this helps.

I am currently giving Windows 7 a try, but it seems to me as though XP was slightly faster...

Mine came with vista, and I was going to downgrade to XP. I decided to try upgrading to 7 and love it. This thing really runs 7 well! Very big speed improvement over vista... no contest.
