Has anyone came across this? It doesn't matter what I do but I can't get OS X to boot anymore. It just hangs at BSD Root. Ive tried installing several kernels both from the ones provided by the DVD and some from terminal from the DVD USING MY usb. Still no luck. Any solutions besides the crude "install again" ?

Have you tried using the kernel from the dvd to boot the OS?

I have a similar problem booting from the hdd but it boots fine if i specify to take the kernel from the dvd.

    hd(?,?)/mach_kernel -v rd=disk?s?

try something like that on the command prompt in bootloader.
