Since most of us are probably using the One for travel, protecting sensitive data is a must.

So far I've been doing it via an encrypted file container (using TrueCrypt). The problem is, that requires a lot of discipline from anyone using the netbook (read - my wife). Otherwise, e-receipts, reservation confirmations etc. are saved in plain view and need to be moved manually.

I can't use TrueCrypt's full disk encryption because it's CPU intensive and would likely result in shortened battery life. A good battery life that 6-cell battery provides is a key feature I don't want to give up.

So, the question is - has anybody used an FDE solution on their One that doesn't result in either the battery life degradation or system slowdown ?
