Does anyone know the specifications of the preinstalled RAM modules on the A110 512MB version, particularly the frequency it operates at?

I've seen a lot of people using 666MHz PC2-5300 RAM in their upgrades to the AA1.

Given that the FSB on the Atom N270 is 533MHz, which implies PC2-4200 on a 1:1 FSB/RAM clock ratio, I have one question - why PC2-5300?? Is there any benefit to using over-spec RAM? I can understand the benefits of over-spec RAM for lower CAS latencies, but the BIOS on the One is locked down tight.

    Have I missed something?

at the moment the 667MHz modules are cheaper to produce. the 533MHz are older and laptops generally get ugraded only once in their lifetime.
Its a good thing tho, whenever the BIOS wont be as locked tight as you correctly say, we should be able to fiddle with the timings a bit more.
