Found a program to overclock GMA 950!

On my Aspire I do actually see a very nice boost in synthetic 3dmark 2006 at 400Mhz.
Video playback with EVR renderer is also smoother. WoW in some places runs smoother, sometimes not.
Author is stating in FAQ that this is because a poor Atom CPU or slow RAM may limit the boost significantly.

C'mon everybody, let's test it and post the results here!

Forgot to tell, the program is not freeware.
Nevertheless, I think I'll pick up a copy as there are no alternatives (googled, there are no similar progs on the market).

 

will this improve performance for everyday use? or just drain the battery?

works fine here, other than the fact that today is my last "evaluation" day. so now im just waiting for someone to actually buy it so i can steal some serials!

 

GMA Bosster is free now.
GMA is working now, i have upgraded .NET to release 3.5

 

LOL Free nope if you look at the site you will have to download a NEW build every week as it will expire every 7 days... BUT if you make a donation you will be provided with a key that will not expire...... Hmmmmm is a fun way of saying it's still shareware...

He should just release it without an expire date and allow users to download new versions as and when available just like all other freeware. That way he is more likely to get a donations from users. As to thye donation sidre he hasn't suggested a minimum so guess 1p is enough then lol

thx so much! my aspire one's Windows Experience Index base score is now 3.0, originally was 2.7
and you know what? it didn't affect my battery life at all. If only we could hack the bios and overclock GMA 950...

Well anyone tried this alternate program that Sony users are using. SetFSB ???

I am not sure how this thing works. But it seems to work for few other Netbooks.

I had the same problem, it was working up until the last release and now doesn't work for me at least

 

C'mon, there's no need to make this kinda comment. If you have problems running this application then I'd suggest searching for more info, being ignorant and foul-mouthed won't get you anywhere.

GMA booster does indeed work and those who enjoy it's benefits are entitled to use it.

In answer to your question though.....No....YOU most probably WON'T be able to play crysis after any amount of graphics upgrade :lol:
