    hi all

    I found it here www.gmabooster.com
On my Aspire I do actually see a very nice boost in synthetic 3dmark 2006 at 400Mhz.
Video playback with EVR renderer is also smoother. WoW in some places runs smoother, sometimes not.
Author is stating in FAQ that this is because a poor Atom CPU or slow RAM may limit the boost significantly.

C'mon everybody, let's test it and post the results here!

Forgot to tell, the program is not freeware. :(
Nevertheless, I think I'll pick up a copy as there are no alternatives (googled, there no no similar progs on the market).

So what are your scores before and after running this program ?

And as a new user here, you wouldn't be associated with the author/software in anyway would you ?

Especially when you post the same message twice... interesting advertising strategy.

    Man, You're kidding :D
Molly never meant to be a kind of advertizing agent

Well I've managed to double the numbers in feature tests

I've posted twice because as a new user I've chosen a wrong section (this one is wrong, right?)
I suppose my wish to share the useful program will soon turn into severe civil and criminal penalties :D

LAME! what kind of loser charges for an overclocking utility. until this program becomes more popular, and somebody leaks a serial for it, screw it.

I've been following this and done tests myself. the performance increase IS there, but do not expect a big difference. IThe performance is limited by the CPU. so only instances where fill rates matter, is there going to be a big difference. AKA 720p video lay much smoother, but games seem to glitch on certain ones, and fps difference is minimal

So wait this program works, but also you metioned tests.
Are you charging for a beta/alpha software ???

And will this thing mess with the stock drivers or bios settings.
Will it not harm those components ?

I have problems with this software conflicting with fan control applications (a1ctl) it crashes the app and GMA will not run either. you have to close it down and restart for GMA to work same with a1ctl...

    just beware guys..

Will 1080 play with this? I can't watch some tv channels with my HDTV tuner. Seems to be ridiculous to be charging for overclocking software though.

It wouldn't take long for some people to crack the program.

But that would be too mean to the developer since has put so much effort into making this program. He deserves the money.

    just a quick question.

If he charges for the software does this mean he also takes responsiblity if it damages your Netbook????? Freeware is totaly your responsibilty where as there has been several cases recently where software developers have been taken to court for damage's as there software has caused data loss and damage. Admittadly it's been big business that has done so and won but all the same there agument was that if they charge for it then they are in some way responsable too( friend(IT manager) company did this recently)

Just a thought...

If you want to know the answer, read the license agreement and all of its documentations.

think about what ur asking lol. 720p barly play on the One. this app will smooth out 720p video, but don't expect watchable 1080p

From the glitching of games I've noticed with this enabled, I'd rather not use this program. honestly, the "increase" is not worth the money or the risk

This program would be much more useful if it can downclock the GMA 950 instead of over clocking it.

    It's free now anyway.
I can see absolutely zero improvements on anything with this running.
There's people on the MSI Wind forums claiming all-sorts of figures but at the end of the day the unit has barely if any discernible improvements that I can see in anyone's posts.
WoW is a "little bit better" - gimme a fecking break.

Ok ran some benchmarks with a real game. heres the results for F.E.A.R.

GMA @ 166MHz (normal under clocked speed)
    Minimum FPS: 8
    Average: 21
    Maximum:44

    Time below 25 FPS: 62%
    Time Between 25 & 40 FPS: 35%
    TIme above 40 FPS: 3%

Thats not tooo bad for fear on this net book, but here with this GMABooster:

Test 1: GMA @ 400MHz (Real speed of a GMA 950, not under nor over clocked):

    Minimum FPS: 9
    Average: 25
    Maximum: 65

    Time below 25 FPS: 53%
    Time Between 25 & 40 FPS: 33%
    TIme above 40 FPS: 14%

Test 2:GMA @ 400MHz (Real speed of a GMA 950, not under nor over clocked):

    Minimum FPS: 9
    Average: 26
    Maximum: 66

    Time below 25 FPS: 50%
    Time Between 25 & 40 FPS: 38%
    TIme above 40 FPS: 12%

So as you can see, the speed boost is very noticeable. its not huge, but it is there.

While 1080p may not be be watchable even with this overclock, almost all current 1080 transmissions are interlaced not progressive, so the data rate is only ~10% higher than 720p.

I suppose it depends if it's the decoding or the rendering that is limiting the AA1 @ video decoding.

With the AA1's 1024x600 screen 720p is certainly a better usage of the bandwidth than 1080i, though both are fairly wasteful due to the downscaling.
