so, im a moron, i took my aspire one laptop (AOA150-1570) apart and accidentally put pressure in the touch pad cable (to motherboard) and cut it in half -

I havent been able to find a replacement, called couple of computer repair places and guess where they told me to look at? eBay !!!1

it has 12 pins - i think, it is really hard to count them.

anyone have an idea what i can do ? i thought about soldering but i shake too much :)

    thanks

It's very possible to fins a replacement inside some other electronics kit you may have. Do you have a broken DVD player anywhere, or an old VHS recorder? If so you could strip them down and look for something similar, you may find a cable with the right pitch (spacing between pins) but too many pins, if so, just cut it down.

I broke the mouse cable on a sony vaio and replaced it with a flat cable from inside an old digital camera.
