    Hi all,

I flashed my BIOS with the 3305 version and unfortunately it went wrong.

My One no longer starts, I have a black screen.

I try unsuccessfully to launch the restoration mode BIOS that I found: http://macles.blogspot.com/2008/08/acer ... overy.html

But bad luck does not work!

As against, the fan makes a weird noise: it is modulated!

    I would like more information:

the USB key must be bootable? (with unetbootin)? Formatted in Fat 16 or 32?

It also works with an SD card?

    Thank you.

macles bios recovery doesn't need for the usb stick to be bootable, just to contain the files as he mentioned and named exactly as mentioned.

My ONE has a similar problem.
Won't do a blind update, I have tried 3 different USB sticks and 2 different bios, but it just sits there blinking at me

    Any ideas anyone?

I think they disabled the Macles restoration trick in 0.3305. The last working well with this, is 0.3304

Are you sure about this? why would they? because the same set of keys works on other acer laptops and it appears to want to work just isnt. This is flustrating because im likely going to have to send it in to get this resolved and would like to avoid that.

In doing the "macles" method of blind flash.... use BIOS .3304 . Then just upgrade to .3305 afterwards.

If I will be able to resuscitate my AAO I won't do a flash anymore!

I've tried with the .3004 bios but nothing change!
I've to give a name to the usb stick when I format it?
I have to put also the bat file?

In some guides someone suggested to do a backup of the old flash before to flash with the new bios, someone of you did the backup and can send it to me so I can try?
