    Strange issue...

Everytime I open firefox, it is maximized (not filled screen, just maximized), but without a window border...easy to fix...just tap F11 to toggle fill screen mode on, then off, and everything is normal....

any idea what might be causing this? Not a terrible bother...just slightly inconvenient.

    Uhm, what are you running?

I configured my system (a crunch-bang) to behave this way. Why do you want to waste screen real estate with boarders?

Did you install compiz over gnome? That is a common bug. If so search compiz on this.

Or maybe you are on Kuki and they did it right (IMHO) :)

i had the same problem in 8.10 which i managed to resolve by going into Compiz settings manager. In the workarounds section uncheck legacy fullscreen support.

Seems to sort the problem for me.
