External Monitor won't come on

    I have hooked up an external monitor, which I just pulled off a mac and works fine, but it won't fire up. I have tried different cables, and I get the boing boing sound that windows gives you when equipment is hooked up, but no picture and no lit screen. Running XP, switched to Chrome and Thunderbird, removing IE and mail. Any suggestions?

    I am having the same problem. My connection worked with my apple ibook but I can't get the same connection to work with my aspire one.

    How did you get it to work?
