External LCD display (winXP)

I am wondering what kind of resolutions are supported when the AAO is connected to a LCD monitor. I am contemplating using the netbook as my primary home pc and desktop replacement. I really only use my PC to check e-mail, surf the web, and use MS Office.

I will be using the AAO WinXP version.

Will the screen look compressed (as if looking at the AAO lcd)?

I am using an LCD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 1024. It is not using the small screen ratio. This is perfect.
