external DVD writer eject help!

    I will start by saying I am completely new to linux.
    The problem I have is the external drive's eject button doesn't work, so in windows its a simple task to eject the CD, but I cannot work out how to on the linux system.
    So can someone tell me how to eject a CD?
    The other question I have is what burning software should I use if I want to create an audio CD from mp3s?
