Expand SD slot on XP version

In the linux version of the Aspire One, I saw that in the videos, the expandable SD is automatically detected and the extra storage is automatically added to the 8gig solid state drive.

For the XP version with 120 gig harddrive, is this still the same?

and is there a way to tell specifically to save something inside the SD card rather than the harddrive?

Its not the same with XP running, it looks like another SD card. You can plug in two SD card though, so it can still be useful if you want to keep some files on a card rather then the hard drive.
