Any noticeable difference in battery life? Wish I would have looked into that card before I got my 1390....

From a quick search, it looks like it only has 2 antenna connections - can you confirm? Would rather not have to add another antenna to support a card.

i saw on page 2 that some people were using a wlan usb dongle to get OSX to work on the AAO.
i was wondering what dongle did you use or do all of them work with OSX

    thanks

I haven't used it enough to notice. And I never really used the original wifi card, so I don't have a good baseline for comparisson.

Affirmative. Two antenna connections. Haven't tested for range or speed ... Just happy to have something that works :)

Some usb wireless dongles will work with osx ew-7318ug an Edimax dongle works. it requires drivers from Edimax
The Aspire-one does quite well with osx considering.

I've just taken a hard drive out a laptop which was triple booting xp osx and ubuntu and put it in a usb hdd case and booted it
osx and ubuntu both worked with a few driver issues. XP didn't since it can't boot from usb (but see bartpe for possible solutions)

for osx 10.4.3 i got 800x600 resolution no sound mostly working keyboard no wifi or lan
with the above usb wifi i got it networked still struggling with sound and screen res.

performance wise it seems quite responsive no worse than ubuntu for example.
nice to say i did it but no sound no webcam low res screen, its hardly worth it.

Another happy Dell 1505 WLAN user here...compared to the Atheros (in OS X) this is heaven...nothing at all to install/configure...it just works! Well spent money in my opinion...

It was very easy to change (if you know how to open up your AA1). It works nice in Windows also (if downloading the Dell drivers and install these.) I have not tested Linux yet however...

After trying several USB-WiFi Dongles I bought an DELL 1390 from eB*y for 24,- € incl. Shipping...
I modded my Acer like in Tankgirls Video and everything is fine, just about 15 Screws, so everyone is able to do...

No configuring in Mac OS iAtkos v4i, that's mac-a-like...

I haven't tried it in Windows, but I think it will work using the common Dell Drivers, if not, Windows gets kicked and that's it...

I found mine on ebay. It's getting hard to remember what it was like to work on computers without having every possible component only a few mouse clicks away :)

Best bet is to search by part number (MX846) and remember to search the full text of listings, not just titles. This search: http://desc.shop.ebay.com/items/?_n...ct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50 turned up 7 auctions last time I tried it.

I think it should probably work - the main thing is that OS X will definitely recognize it, since it's an Apple branded card. You might not get the full 802.11n range, but it should probably be fine.

I don't think this card has a mini-PCIe connector, so you won't be able to use it in your One.

One last question, will a wifi card from an intel mac mini work correctly in windows or will it just work in os x?

If Windows has a driver for Broadcom-based cards, then it should work fine I guess.
