Ethernet not working, wifi works fine, what to do?

    Hi
    I have a problem with my Aspire One A110, my ethernet/wired connection doens't work. I can access my routers setup page just normally and I can ping my router, but nothing else works. But with wifi there is no problem, everything works just as it should! So how could i get the wired connection working again?

    Edit: actually the wlan doesn't seem to work 100% perfectly, it works fine with one of my accesspoints but not with the other..But the wired connection is anyway the bigger problem. By the way, the problem started when I tried to use my mobile phone as a usb-modem with wvdial and edited some settings in /etc/wvdial.conf and /etc/resolv.conf but I changed back the settings to the defaults and it didn't help. Please help me, I have no idea what to do...

    Can anyone help? The One gets an ip adress when I connect the ethernet cable, but no pages can be viewed (only the routers setup page at 192.168.2.1).

    I'd try resetting the router and also make sure its in DHCP mode.

    What is in /etc/resolv.conf, and what's the output of the command 'sudo route' ?

    /etc/resolv.conf usually be where the system looks for your DNS settings. Being able to obtain an address and contact the router (by IP address) but nothing else could mean you have an incorrect DNS setup.

    sudo route should tell you what gateway is set up; again an incorrect gateway could be affecting routing beyond the router itself.

    Should it look like that? By the way, the wifi works with one of my wlan-routers which gives a 192.168.2.xx ip, but not with my other router which gives a 192.168.10.xx ip, and also not with my FON routers unprotected ssid. With ethernet nothing else than 192.168.2.1 seems to work. And my connection works really perfectly with my two other pc:s so it shouldn't be a router problem.

    Those results look OK: let's try something else.
