After trying another distro, I reinstalled Linpus from the updated ISO. All the previously added software (latest Firefox, VLC etc.) reinstalled OK except pyNeighborhood. This gives the following error. Can anyone help diagnose the problem?

    [root@localhost pyNeighborhood-0.4.1]# make install
    `which python` ./compile
    Listing . ...
    Listing ./icons ...
    install -d //usr/local/bin
    make: install: Command not found
    make: *** [install] Error 127

Error 1 is mentioned in other threads but not error 127

Did you install "make" and "gcc" first?

Also what's the output from "which install"?

Thanks for coming back with some ideas after such a long gap.

In answer to your question yes, I followed the install instructions that worked previously to the letter. I cannot quote the output from "which install"? because I have moved away from Linpus to Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

UNR does everything I want except that I cannot get it to read SDHC cards, only SD cards (up to 2GB?). Even in this less than perfect state, there is no going back for me.

No problem, I'm new here and figured I'd see who I can help out. I'm also running Ubuntu, so I assume your problem is fixed?
