for people asking about the blue wallpaper i used, here it is along with different colors.

i tried to unzip one of these to the usr/share and i can't get to it. when i go to file manager and input the location (usr/share...) a little red circle with a horizontal white line through it pops up and it wont take me to the location. I've already engaged the "advanced" mod, but how do i get it to prompt me for my root password or whatever so i can unzip the png (i think that is the right file type) to the file...any ideas?

thanks

I noticed two problem when using these wallpapers... the "settings" and "help" buttons on the main desktop are now very hard to see since their color is so dark. Is there a way to change these fonts so they're white or something that will stand out? Secondly, the search bar on the desktop still shows a little of the default gray wallpaper surrounding it. Is there any way to clear that up? Thanks!

here you go. sorry if it took a while as I came from a vacation. I'm currently running on XP now so I haven't tested this on A1 Linpus. let me know if it fits.

regarding the search bar, I use this wallpaper without it (disabled) as i don't use it often.
for the help and settings button, i edited their .desktop files and removed the name so it will only show icons and change the icons into something else. i might be posting some png's that could work for different colors but i cannot promise a specific date when (sorry).

here's how mine looks:

you don't have to unzip these. just save them in any folder on your SSD (or SD expansion, eg. My pictures) then right click > settings > desktop (if i remember it correctly) then locate the file.

here's a transparent png file for the search bar for people who find it useful. backup existing search_bar.desktop.png from /usr/share/search-bar/ and replace it with this one. i haven't tested this yet as i don't have the linpus installed on mine. let me know if it works.

Very nice.. have downloaded the blue design.. all goes well until I reboot then I get the default solid colour background. I have checked the Settings : Desktop Settings option and the "Show Image" box is ticked AND also if I have booted and get the default solid colour background then toggling the tick box in Settings : Desktop Settings brings back the desired background.. bizarre

Anyone else get/solve this?

Make sure that the file is located in usr/share/backgrounds. Linpus Lite seems to be fussy where desktop graphics files are located!

Thanks Steve

Just as soon as I get gnome or KDE to work and give me access to the usr directories I well try your suggestion

Many thanks

Nice backgrounds, I just don't know which one to use lol !

Anyways, for people who have them disappear at each reboot put them in this folder

/usr/share/xfce4/backdrops

Also here is my sun set one I just made using the template provided. hope you like it.

Well i'm using it for now, though if i can't get vpn to work i'm going for standard fedora or tinyxp. Though i like my own background

Thanks for the PSD

I just had to have my Penguins....
