Enable / Disable WLAN in WinXP

    Anybody know, How to Enable / Disable WLAN in WinXP (with software) ?

    coz when WLAN its not used it wil drain the battery, especialy with 3 cell battery..

    goto control panel / network connections and grab the icon for the wireless connection. copy it to your desktop and you can left click it to enable/disable it....

    Why not use the switch ?
    It works on mines. Flick and Bam no wifi =)

    The hardware switch should saves more than turning it off software wise?
    Someone should test this out..

    Yes. Purely because switch is turning WiFi card OFF by cutting off power. Software is only disabling radio part but card still is powered. However there is no visible difference for user and battery - it's the same like stand-by in teli...

    so which one is more effective to save the battery consumption?
    1. by right click on wireless network then choose - DISABLE
    2. or by switching the hardware button *this method i'm worry to broke the switch :)
    so i prefer by software

    is there any effective solution by software to turn off the WIFI (when its not used) so it can save the battery consumption
    especially for Apire One which using 3 cell battery?

    Both option will save the battery - difference between them is not big then you can use any. If you worry about switch go for software ON/OFF. It is doing the same job. As I said before - difference is very, very small in term of battery use...
