    Hi,

I want to buy an original 3-cell 11.1v replacement as well as an extended 9cell version. Since I can't seem to find a local dealer online or in any brick & mortar store here in New York (even Acer's tech support are no help when I gave them a phonecall), does anybody trust or recommend any of the Hong Kong ebay sellers? Prices vary but the cheapest ones I see right now are:

    haobattery.9953

    http://cgi.ebay.com/9cell-battery-for-A ... 1|240:1307

    and

    bill981101

    http://cgi.ebay.com/9Cell-7200mAh-Batte ... 1|240:1307

    and

    hk-zhaoyu

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0291856465

Has anyone had any bad experience with Honk Kong ebay sellers? Does anybody know of any reputable American dealers so I won't have to wait for delayed international shipping?

    Thanks for any insight :D

Just got my 6-cell 5200mAh from BrainyDeal via Amazon.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?ie ... EQ8I6OHSBG

Ordered on the 19th, received it on the 24th.

I think I may go ahead and get their 9-cell as well.

Slightly higher prices than the ebay sellers, but I figured that since they're going through Amazon I've got a little more peace of mind on not getting stiffed.

I bought my 9-cell from a NY dealer. Search eBay stores for NOVAPCS. Free shipping as I recall.

How is the quality of the battery and casing? I just found another dealer from Brooklyn NY as well. His name is mambate and has a 99.6% rating.

I ordered a 3-cell for $49.99 w/ free shipping (plus $1.49 insurance) using the "Buy It Now" option. I'll post an opinion when it gets here. I already received a tracking number on my first order from Honk Kong. Hopefully it arrives in 2 weeks or less.

Sturdy with a quality feel. I refreshed it 3 or 4 times right after I got it and it gives me 9 hours consistently.

Bought a 5200mAH 6-cell from the ebay seller "happy_power" in Hong Kong.

    • Had to wait 2 weeks for despatch[/*:m:3buanmwu]
    • Item shipped was actually 4400mAH[/*:m:3buanmwu]
    • Had to wait 1 week for RMA number to return the item[/*:m:3buanmwu]
    • 1 week after the item was delivered back to Hong Kong I still had not received a refund[/*:m:3buanmwu]
    • Refund only obtained after dispute raised with PayPal (more than 5 weeks after originally paying for the item)[/*:m:3buanmwu]
    • Promised refund of return postage costs is still outstanding.[/*:m:3buanmwu]
I would never deal with this ebay seller again.

Update: After posting negative feedback the vendor has now offered to resolve this matter to my satisfaction. I will let you know the outcome in due course.

So much for that thought. Hadn't had a chance to do so yet, finally got around to loading Notebook Battery Info onto the AA1. Turns out that this battery (like so many others from 3rd party suppliers, it seems) is a 4400mAh advertised as a 5200.

Gonna see if I can get a guaranteed 5200 from them (doubtful) or a refund which I'll apply towards a genuine 5200. Anyone know of a supplier who ACTUALLY sells 5200mAh 6-cells?

NOVAPCS in NY and NJ. I ordered a 7200mAh and that exactly what I got at a good price and free shipping. Check this link.

I bought what should have been a 7800 mAh battery from Good_battery, turned out to be a mislabeled 6600 mAh, I had to get paypal involved as seller ignored my emails.

    Avoid.

You've checked it with Notebook Battery Info or the like and have assured that it's 7200? As the poster below you noted, there's 6600's being labeled as 7200, just like the mislabled 4400's.

I received my 3-cell 2200mah battery from a local eBay seller from Brooklyn NY named mambate. I'm in Manhattan so it only took 2 days for the free delivery to arrive. I already have an original 6-cell so I'll post pictures of both for comparison.

Here is the original 6-cell 5200 mah

The 3-cell came nicely packaged in a static case nestled in between fitted styrofoam cutouts inside a neat little box. It looked like it was wrapped exactly as posted by RainmakeR here http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=11442

    Here are pictures of mambate's 2200mah 3-cell

And here's a size comparison pic

So far the battery works fine. I've cycled it a couple of times and the only problem is that Acer's own battery meter states the Power Status of the 3-cell as "Discharging" when it's attached instead of "On Line" as stated by the original 6-cell when it's being used. You can see this in the meter reading's pictures above. If anyone can explain if this is a serious problem I would greatly appreciate it. I would return it and demand a refund immediately if somebody convinces me this can potentially harm my beloved little netbook

I'll post more updates and pics as soon as my other order arrives. I'm still waiting for my Hong Kong 9-cell from hk-zhaoyu.

Earlier this week, I ordered from NovaPCS from NY. The seller was very responsive and switched the color for me without any problems. Shipping was super fast too. The size and weight are exactly what I had expected/hoped for. It's really not bad looking at all.

Now for the negative. The battery was advertised as 5200mah 6-cell. Notebook BatteryInfo and BatteryBar both show the battery to have a full-charged capacity of 47714 / 11.1 = 4298. So, not only is it not actually a 5200, it's less than a 4400. I'm really annoyed, but it sounds like this is common place.

Has anyone actually received a 5200 version? Battery life appears to be about 4.5 hours, though I just got it today so it hasn't been broken in yet.

Secondly, I wonder if I should return it, especially if the next one I order is likely to be mis-labeled too. Probably unlikely, but maybe I can get some kind of a credit from the seller. 4400mah batteries can be found for $46 free shipping while 5200mah can be had for $54. Wonder if I can get a $8 credit.

Oh... lastly. Though I ordered from Novapcs, the package it arrived in says Mambate. Looks like it's the same seller!

Yeah, my order through Amazon that listed the seller as "BrainyDeal" also came from Mambate.

Like you, I'm wondering if there are actually ANY 3rd party 5200's that are truly 5200's and not just misrepresented 4400's.

FWIW, my mislabeled 4400 has been through several proper cycles for conditioning and I get about 4.5 hours outta it with Wi-Fi turned off. Not as much as I was expecting in that situation. Still working on getting a return.
