Dual core Atom Processor

    I wonder if we could just buy the processor and swap it into the AAO? I like this laptop but it could use another core without having to purchase another laptop

    it seems to have the same specs that my current atom has:

    like the 533mhz front side bus

    If the BGA pinout, BIOS registers, timing diagrams, and ports all match up, why not? The Intel datasheets are public and have all this good stuff. SMD reworking is fun.

    The Onelinux System Monitor shows my Atom processor as having 2 cores.

    The current single core processor is soldered to the motherboard. This makes a processor swap unfeasible for most of us.
