Dopping wifi

I have windows 7 sp one on my acer aspire one netbook. I had issues with losing wifi untill i uninstalled zone alarm firewall. all seemed fine until about a week ago it started again. i am running an atheos wifi card on bus 1. When wifi goes down i lose all uses of my computer. media player quits working my wifi swich goes out. the only way to solve it is to reboot. I hope someone can help before this becomes a paperweight.
