I got my acer one from walmart 2 days ago, but there was no carrying pouch inside it. I was looking at some videos of unboxing acer one and all of them seem to have this pouch inside the box. I am wondering if I am missing something? Also does any recovery CD come with it? I didnt get any CD of any kind inside the box.

This would be a good topic for the beginners section.

No recovery CD's are included with the Aspire One.

No sleeve (case) is included with the 6 cell, 160 GB HD version of the Aspire One in the US. A sleeve was/is included with some models. Someone else will have to answer what models include the sleeve.

Mine's the XP/120HDD version and it came with the slipcase (which is mostly useless).

It's not really super useful anyway, I suggest if you need a case to get a proper one. There's a thread here on the forum with suggestions as to what will fit etc. :)

Mine (Linux/SSD version) came with a cheap leatherette pouch, nothing special, but helps to cushion it in a briefcase. It was stuck in a fold of cardboard in the lid of the box, and I almost didn't notice it was there.

It also came with a recovery CD. I got it from Amazon.com, which might ship more complete systems than WalMart.

There's like a thousand posts about this allready, and what I've gathered from those it looks like some retail packages just include the case and others don't. I have the 3 cell linux white, and I didn't get the pouch. Allthough some people in some countries did. My mom has the 3 cell XP model and she did get the pouch, but I've read that some people didn't.

So basically, you know when you get the machine if it has it or not.

I did'nt get a case which was really upseting because over here i am not able to find one also .

But i got recovery cd in the package .

Was reading all the post in this thread i was wondering that , all the models should have the same packaging content regardless of country .( maybe no not sure )

My Aspire One came with a leather sleeve with an Acer logo on it.
And it also came with a Recovery DVD for Linpus Linux. ;)

I think every Aspire One should come with both of them. :)

Is that a 6-cell in that case?
I have a similar case with my AA1 (3-cell), but the AA1 doesn't protrude from the opening.

yes it's 6 cell. I believe the opening for the 3 cell is on the 'end' of its case and not on the long end.

I bought my AspireOne from Frys. It seems to be a model unique to them, because I have not seen this config anywhere else (which is why I got it)
    Blue AOA 110-1588
8GB SSD w/8GB SD Card Inserted in Left Slot (came that way)
    1GB Ram
    Windows XP Home SP3
Comes with 2 CDs, one of which is clearly the OS cd.
No sleeve or case of any sort.
