I am looking for the technical service manual for the One. It is only available to Acer Authorized Service Providers on a password protected part of the Acer website. If anyone has access to this, that would be awesome!!

That, or if anyone out there has shelled out the $4 for the manual at http://store.payloadz.com/go?id=170349

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the response, however I am not looking for the user manual. I am looking for the manual that shows how to tear down the machine part by part. It is only available to certified technicians.

I'll second that request. $4 isn't a lot to ask, but still, it should be freely available to those who want it.

Any one of us could write that manual! I used to repair televisions and VCRs, but the One is a pretty simple machine.

What do you need to know?

Specifically, the part number for the top cover of the LCD lid. I want to figure out some way to get a new one so that I can sand it down, paint it, cover it with stickers, clearcoat it, and put it on. Then, when I want to sell this machine, I can put the stock one on. I would take it apart myself to check if I knew that could get another lid, but I don't want to risk losing my warranty in the event that I can't get a new lid.

Thanks for the responses. I am sure the part number is either a sticker on the inside of the lid or stamped into the plastic.

    A few things I noticed.

    1. The 2200mah Sanyo battery appears to be a 2 Cell instead of 3 Cell.
    2. The black 6 cell battery appears to be made by Panasonic, while the white 6 cell is made by Samsung. (Both 5200 mah)
    3. Both Samsung and Panasonic have 3 cell 4400 mah batteries in the pipeline. (Samsung also has a 3 cell 4800mah)
    4. Samsung and Hynix 1GB Memory Modules, possibly 1.5gb preinsalled AAO's in the future.
    5. It's possible for them to preinstall 1gb, leading to possible 2gb AAO's in the future.
    6. In the frequently asked questions page, it says the memory is upgradeable from an expansion slot at the base of the machine.
    7. There are also 2GB and 4GB SSD versions in the works.

It looks like there are going to be a lot more variations on the AAO in the near future. My guess is that they are going to let us configure them on their website in the future.
