Hello everyone! First time poster here.

First I have to say this is a great forum.

I was an Asus EE 701 user and two days ago I became the very happy owner of an AAO 150L. :)

The first unit I received had a dead pixel and I had it exchanged for another one.

    The new one is perfect.

However, I have OCD with all my gadgets and pcs, and I have to ask:

I realize this is not an expensive laptop, but are led backlight hotspots normal on the bottom of the screen?

They aren't really noticeable, but they are there. I have heard of this refered to as the 'flashlight' effect on AV forums.

I have to say though that apart from that, the screen is almost perfect. :)

So is this type of backlight bleed considered normal?

P.S. I realize I may be a little paranoid but please bear with me :)

Thats good to know. This 'flashlight' effect is more visible when looking at the laptop from a couple of meters back.

I can count 6 light sources coming from the bottom, so I presume these are the 6 LED arrays lighting up the screen?

Looks like that. But in my case I have to really focus on LCD to see this "problem/issue". I agree it's visible "better" when booting on black screen, under OS there is no perceptible problem...
