I have had he ZG5 for over a year, running Linux as standard install with the SSD rather than hard drive. When I switched it on the other day, it would not connect to the network, or even try. All of the document links were gone and it looks like the whole of my user data has gone.

Is this a failure of the SSD, although most other things work still. Where would I find a diagram of the internal location of the SSD if this must be replaced or has been displaced?

Did you have and SD card in the left slot that you removed between the last time everything worked and the first time everything disappeared? If so, you could be missing a large number of files.
